Information You Send
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party service that supplies the result. Katy Residents Directory does not retain a copy of that query. Messages sent to us contain the information in the message and are used to respond.
Routine Technical Data
Like most hosted services, the site receives basic server-log data such as IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and time stamps. We review aggregate patterns to maintain the service. Cookies or similar tools may be used for basic analytics and, if applicable, advertising measurement.
What We Do With This Data
We use this limited data to operate the service, resolve technical issues, measure aggregate use, and improve information pages. Visitor lists are not sold and individual visitor profiles are not created.
External Services and Links
County and state portals, library collections, archives, and sponsored search services linked from this reference are separate services. Their own privacy terms govern information submitted there, including a query sent through a sponsored result.
Who Might See Your Data
Hosting and support providers process the limited technical data needed to provide the service. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. We disclose information only when valid legal process requires disclosure.
How We Protect Your Data
The site uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for as long as needed for the stated operations. Since there are no visitor accounts, there is no account password or profile maintained here.
Users Under 18
This reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has provided information, and we will remove it.
Choices About Your Information
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask about, correct, or remove personal information held by a service. Because this reference retains very little, we can check the contact mailbox and available logs when you use the Contact page. Texas Business and Commerce Code Chapter 509 addresses covered data-broker registration and notice duties, but it does not create one universal removal request for public records. A Texas state, county, or city custodian controls corrections or removal requests for its own record.
